getting my aftermarket air cooler in an hour in the mail. Looking to do a little experimenting. Want to overclock to 4.1ghz if i can hit it.

what settings do i need to disable/enable in the bios (aka stuff like amd cool n quiet, anything??)?

Solution
There's nothing you really need to disable, XFR2 with good cooling will boost that CPU to 4.3ghz.

^^^Stock cooler, playing Destiny 2 for two hours.

Do you mean to 'all core' OC, or like Wildcard999 mentioned just letting the CPU do it's thing with XFR/PB?

@ Wildcard999 - Jeez, some nice results. Low temps, high boosts AND with stock cooler. Are the 4.3 max or sustained? Do you run OSD with CPU freq whilst playing?

If you want OC the CPU, then you just change the CPU multiplier from 34 to what ever speed you want to hit. e.g 39 x 100 would give an all core base of 3.9ghz. Just watch temps with HWMon/Info, and test for stability with Prime 95 small ffts. Start of with maybe 1.3v on the CPU and test with Prime, starting low, and working up. Testing after each change.

There somewhat stable, bounce between 3.9 (boost)-4.3 but for stock and no manual OC it's pretty good. It did get warm the other day and went up to 64C but the clocks stayed pretty high. With the XFR I think it also is affected based on voltage and whatever my Asus B450 Strix is giving it is enough to keep the OC up there. Still having issues with memory though but that's another story lol. When I have time I'll get a overlay and let you know.

Yes, it's defo pretty good. What voltage does it hit when it boosts so high? Sorry off topic. Maybe you could PM me?

Cheers
