Smoke From Beneath Motherboard

So I just finished building my pc yesterday and when I turn it on it runs perfectly the fans are spinning the lights are on. But then I noticed smoke coming out of it. I unplug the pc and put it on its side on the floor open it and turn it on again to see where the smoke is coming from. It turns on and runs fine until I see smoke coming from beneath the motherboard to the right of the RAM slots. I can not find any burn marks.

Specs:
Case: Thermaltake
Motherboard: ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer
CPU: Intel i7
RAM: Kingston 4gb
Video: Nvidia Quadro Fx 1700
PSU: SilverStone 600W

What thermal paste did you use? Is it possible you dabbed a little too much on there? Its hard to describe smells but Thermal Paste burn-off is not the same as a straight electrical burn. Ive noticed smoke sometimes on burn-ins and it was due to thermal pastes. If everything seems normal, it might be that.

That's what I thought too but could it be that the thermal paste is bad because the thermal paste that I used is VERY liquidy and is thermal paste normally used to be a bit solid. And yes the smoke does not really smell like smoke more like thermal paste. But can you answer this why was the smoke then not coming out from beneath the CPU but on the other side of the motherboard? If you want I can post a picture of the motherboard and show where the smoke was coming from.

Smoke travels at the least resistance and your CPU is clamped down fairly tightly. It sounds like runoff. Is your Mobo Vertical or Horizontal? If Vertical, it should burn off and not be a problem. The smoking should not last past the burn-in period. Give it a few hours and it should go away. If it persists, you might want to pull the mobo and check the backside.

When the computer is standing up normally the motherboard it vertical. So what should be my next steps take the Mobo off and check it out? What should I look for on the other side?

Edit:

You also said "The smoking should not last past the burn-in " where would the burn in be, I am quite a noob at this as it is my first time, you also said "Give it a few hours and it should go away. If it persists" if what persists, can you please explain more I am just really worried that I broke something.

The burn in period happens after you build the system and the thermal paste can give off an odor. The it should go away. I dont think you broke anything. Is it running fine?
