I want to fit a USB C front panel connector (small, female) to my new PC which has a Gigabyte Aorus Ultra Rev. 1.0 motherboard. There is a USB header on the motherboard and a second on its rear plus a small, female USB C connector.
Are USB headers for 3.0 and 3.1 now the same, meaning, I suppose, that ASUS' standard has been adopted by Gigabyte? If I buy a cable that fits my new motherboard's USB header, what standard(s) will the front panel connector I install be? (There are both red and yellow USB ports on the rear of this motherboard, but I will save those for another posting!)
