Should I purchase a 2600 and the other things centered around that CPU, or should I wait for a possible Ryzen 3k launch at CES? It is not that far away, so I dont know whether or not to go safe or risky. Any help?

There is always something new on the horizon.
Ryzen 3xxx, then the next iteration from Intel, and then Ryzen 4xxx....

Buy now or wait til later...all up to you.
What are your current system hardware specs? What do you do with the machine, and what do you NEED it to do?

Is it capable enough now and you are just looking at the possibility of an upgrade or are you currently in need of a more capable system due to a lack of performance?

I was hoping for some light streaming (fortnite, pubg, CS, fallout, just cause) and I dont have a machine rn, which is why I think I want to wait. The price to performance of the navi processors seems to be insane, and so do the gpu's, if the leaks are credible. But saying as the guy who leaked this was right in the rtx 20 series, I feel this could be the way to go. I think if the leaks are correct I'd get an r5 3600 and the rx 3080 (if the leaks are correct.) My budget is 1k if that helps at all.

I am not sure of a release date, or even how long after that it may take to see a full product line. There was a leak (haha) that indicates some rather unbelievable specs, and then another leak (hoho) that said it was BS.
If you have the time to wait a few months I might see what progresses. Price to performance there is little reason to consider the + line to the 1xxx line. The margins in improvement were very small.

this was going to be a christmas present, but i decided to see whether or not to push it back to ces. I got a pc last year for christmas, but do to a bonehead move of mine, the gpu died. now, i am hoping to get a pc that will last me a few years before needing an upgrade. i want some kind of pc soon, and im ok with the early adopter issues that come with a new launch like this.
