Hi! I just put together a pc for a friend using some of my old parts, he plans to upgrade in the future,

so it's a amd athlon 860k FM2+ socket, and I cant install the stock heatsink because I guess I can't find the socket bracket base that comes with the heatsink so I bought a Cooler Master Hyper T2.

This cooler does not seem to come with a amd bracket base so you can "clip" the cooler onto it,

So my question is, what do I have to do to install this thing? Where do I get the bracket base, because the x mounting screw doesn't allign with the motherboard and it doesn't come with any kind of bracket.

Solution
This one is really good, used it for a couple of systems and is small enough to fit into most cases. Return the T2.

Plus unlike that T2 then one screws into a bracket and doesn't use push pins which are pretty crappy as they wear out over time especially if your friend will be changing parts eventually.

That cooler does support the FM2+ socket so it will work, you just need to find the right bracket as it comes with one for Intel and one for AMD. Also that cooler doesn't clip on like the stock cooler, you need to install the bracket underneath the motherboard then put the cooler on top of the CPU and use the X bracket with the screws to lock the cooler in place. If your cooler didn't come with the bracket need then you need to contact Cooler Master or the retailer you bought it from.

Hi, thanks for the response,

So the cooler came with this as a full kit

http://us.coolermaster.com/uploadfile/fileproduct_list/en14051300015af3/PRDPIC/42_42bdc7562c965d29c56cefc4ff4c3863_1400281212.jpg

It did not come with any bracket, the screws don't fit anywhere, and the clip thing that the instructions tell me to use I don't have the base bracket for either.

Sorry I was thinking of a different one. So the only part your going to use is this.

If you don't have the bracket from the original stock cooler then the T2 won't work.

Yea that's what I thought, well what should I do then? Should I get a different kind that doesn't use that arm? I grabbed the t2 because it was small, I am using a micro atx motherboard, don't think the Hyper Evo 212 will be small enough.

There a cooler with FM2 compatibility that doesn't use that arm?
