[SOLVED] Gaming Fps Lags

Specs:
cpu: Amd fx 8350 black edition "vishera" (8 CPUs)
gpu: Sapphire R9 380 Nitro 4gb
psu: Corsair CP-9020048-UK Builder Series CX600 (600w)
Motherboard: As rock 979 extreme3 R2.0
OS: Windows 10
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250gb 2.5"
Hdd: WD 1 TB PC HARD DRIVE - Blue
RAM: HyperX HX318C10FRK2/16 FURY 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 1866 MHz DDR3

So I'm having this issue where my fps drops randomly during games such as Rust or Fortnite, I don't think it's temperatures as they seem to be stable but I have noticed that the GPU usage decreases in the task manager as this fps lag occurs. I've tried playing on the lowest settings possible and this seems to still be an issue. Is there something wrong or should I upgrade anything specifically to improve my setup. I have come across my pc randomly freezing randomly in general when using chrome or browsing through steam in which it freezes for about 10 seconds or so. Any responses are much appreciated.

Hi, sorry I didn't reply I've been busy the last few days :( As I said before I'm fairly sure its your processor holding your games back. But, unless they have fixed it since then, I know Rust has some performance problems and some people with quite powerful PC's still have stuttering. I don't play either Rust or Fortnite so I couldn't really compare with my own experiences.

If you have an aftermarket cooling fan for your processor you might find some framerate improvement by overclocking your processor. If you get a performance improvement from this, it'd be clearly be the processor that is/was the bottleneck.

Mmmm.....to be honest it does sound like a CPU bottleneck (the FX 8350 is holding back the R9 380). Although that doesn't explain why you are getting freezing in chrome. What are your tempratures like? have you overclocked your CPU or GPU?

I would consider upgrading your PC. Either way you go (AMD or Intel) you are going to have to upgrade your motherboard as well as your cpu, since right now your graphics card is being bottlenecked.

AMD Route:

If you are looking to go the AMD route, getting an AM4 chipset motherboard is a must, which also means you are going to have to upgrade to ddr4 Ram. Here are the parts I recommend:
