Open it up and see what was knocked loose. Lots of things could have happened, just about anything inside could have been damaged in a fall or dislodged. Re-seat all the components, make sure heatsink and fan are on well. Although if you knew how to check the computer you would have already done this, so you may want to find a friend/relative/paid IT tech to look it over.
