So for years I had a docking station for my laptop but my new one does not support it, an Inspiron 7000. So to reduce the number of things I need to plug in I got a USB3 hub, which means I just need to plug in one USB lead into the laptop to do keyboard/mouse/soundcard. Was wondering if it was worth getting a USB3->HDMI adapter so I don't also have to pug in the monitor. Basically, everything would be done through plugging in one cable.

There are for many Latitude models, but you said you have an Inspiron. One thing I do have about the new laptop models is that even the business ones stopped using a dock port but use USB C connections, which are very bad for constant use. Many broken docks and ports are work we have to deal with.
