[SOLVED] Standoff screw stuck in backplate screw HELP URGENT

Hey so I was installing my Corsair H55 as a replacement for my old cooler. But after i put it on, i realized that i forgot to apply thermal paste (yes I'm stupid). But as I was taking it off one of the standoff screws were stuck in the backplate. I've tried many methods. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it as this is frustrating me.

put the screwdriver on the screw, tap with a hammer lightly, key word there is lightly, a couple of times - if it doesn't come loose, repeat, DO NOT HIT WITH HEAVY BLOWS, just repeat with light blows
