I am trying to get a old computer to hook to the internet. I try to install the disk for the router and it says needs win32 xp service pack 3. I tried to download it to a jump drive and put in on this ocmputer but it will not accept it. Message is something like Setup has detected the version of serice pack installed is lower than whats neccessary to apply this hotfix. AT min u must have ser pack 3 installed. But it wont let me. Also tried dial up and and net zero shows connected but pages wont open error 619 connection to the remote computer could not be established. Not sure what that mean.

So you know it is not the router or modem. I have a working router and modem with Comcast that I uses for 2 newer computers and phone WiFi and it works very good.

As for the dial up modem, it did work the last time this computer was used on the internet. Which is 2005 or so. I signed up for the free 10 hours per month dialup with net zero. For that computer.
