im interested in purchasing the Team group excaliber ram, i was wondering due to the 4000mhz clock of the ram module would it down clock to suit my Motherboards recommended speeds?

Specs:
Ryzen 5 1400
MSi B350 pc mate

ddr4 rams basic clock speed is around 2133mhz so you'll first have to overclock it to see how much your motherboard can take it said it supported 3200 + (oc) so im not sure how much it can accualy handle

what i am understanding from this is that the 4000mhz ram would run as 2133mhz, to achieve higher clocks i'd have to overclock it, but due to limitations of my motherboards it may not achieve the actual 4000mhz.?

normally yes, recently I built a computer. It had 3000MHz RAM but DDR4 baseclock is set to 2133MHz so you'll have to overclock it to the clock speed you want and hopefully your motherboard can handle
