I just purchased a Cybertronpc rhodium desktop AMD FX-Series for my 14yr old son. Specs: 16GB, AMD FX 6300, Nvidia Geoforce GTX 1050, 2TB, ATX AMD 970, Win 10. I pd $749. I’m looking for feedback on brand, graphics card? Also I just read a review on this website re: CPU+to stay away from the AMD FX-is this obsolete? Now I’m wondering if I should return—if I do I don’t know what else to get @ this price range?I can’t afford anything more+no time/knowledge to build my own. Any advice would be great-Thanks

I wouldn't really worry too much about a SSD in a sub $700 gaming system. I did find this Lenovo for a good price but it's out of stock at the moment but may be worth keeping an eye out for. It has the i5-8400 which is a excellent CPU and the GTX 1050 ti 4gb which is good for 1080P gaming. Only 8gb of memory but it does come with 16gb Optane + 1TB HDD so the system should still be quite fast.

$663 down from $880.

That seems like a lot of money for a dead architecture. The PC didn't even come with the FX 8350. For the price you paid, you could have gotten a Ryzen PC with a better GPU. You most likely paid $350 too much, and it seems like it didn't even come with an SSD.

If at all possible, try and return it and get a computer running Ryzen, or if all possible, an Intel CPU.
