Brand new SSD very slow

I just got an SSD for the first time, and to much surprise it's performing way lower than expected according to Userbenchmark. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12911241 it's connected to SATA III, ACHI is on in BIOS, I have the SATA drivers. Looking at reviews for this on Newegg and Amazon, the only problem customers have reported was it being dead on arrival, or it dying shortly after purchase, but none of them have reported it running horribly, so I know it must be an issue on my end.

Solution
I found out that it was because of these cheap SATA connectors that I had. A friend of mine let me have a spare one that was stock for his motherboard, and wouldn't you know it was performing as expected!

Windows isn't running on this drive, and I haven't reinstalled Windows since the installation of this drive, either. I did format it once when I first did a bench, and I changed the SATA connectors on it, too. Nothing I've done so far made a difference, 5% percentile each time. The motherboard is Crosshair V Formula Z, if that matters. A friend/previous owner of this hardware had a Samsung 850 Evo and had no issues.

Well the average read/write sequential is 430 mine got 309, and the average 4k read/write is 58, mine is 46. Something is hindering the performance of it.

No, at least not yet. I was going to order a 120GB version of this SSD to use for the boot drive, but this one I have now is for games.

Well I don't want Windows on this drive, I'm kinda avoiding writing too much on this as I don't know its TBW rating. So far I've installed like a good 200GB on it since I downloaded GTA twice and another game. I also decided to see if turning off write caching would help and it brought the performance down to 0% for the benchmark. :/

Not sure what to think of that. Like I said, friend of mine had no problems with an SSD that has nearly similar performance with this board.

Well the problem is my SSD performing badly. Switching on and off cache writing had an impact, so that's a sign it may be something software related. This isn't related, but a few months ago I discovered the reason my CPU ran so poorly was because of Windows. When I reinstalled Windows from a different ISO, I went from percentages less than 20 in Userbenchmark to percentages over 70 in worst performance scenarios.

I tweaked the settings it on Windows and turned off better performance mode. It increased in performance by 1%. To the guy saying it may be an old chipset, I've seen other benchmarks with better CPUs/boards and the users were still having low performance. They also had low performance on other components... :/
