Hello, I recently upgraded from an I5 6500 and got a new Ryzen 2700x and an MSI Tomahawk motherboard. I saw on the internet that RAM are a big thing with Ryzen so I got just my old RAM sticks. I have 1 kit of 2x4 gb at 2133 mhz and one RAM stick of 8GB at 2133, all 3 are exactly the same model and all of that. CPUZ says that I am in Dual channel and even the BIOS recognises the RAM being in dual channel. My question is: Is 2133 mhz enough for my Ryzen? Should I buy a kit of 2 at a higher frequency? I saw some kind of overclock for RAM in my BIOS but the frequency won't go up so I left it on automatic.

Also I got a bargain on a Asus GTX 1080 TurbO at 350 euro. Is it good? I don't want to feel like I have wasted my money... I just want to play Assassin's Creed Odyssey at 60 frames..

Thank you for taking your time reading all of this.

that is not an ideal setup, you are running in dual channel mode but you, as you stated are running at 2133mhz which is extremely slow for ryzen as it utilizes faster memory as part of its architecture. I would if I were you get a 16gb kit(8gbx2) 3200mhz, that will allow you to operate that chip without hold it back to a certain degree. it will definitely help with your gaming performance. sell the old sticks you have if possible. the GTX 1080 is a great card you don't have to feel bad about buying it, I have one and love it. I see no reason to get anything faster.
