I agree with volkgren. My laptop idles at 45C, but under full load barely touches 90C, and that is with a 7700HQ. Generally laptops save fans and let components run a little hotter in the name of quiet operation. Generally idle temps of 40c-50c aren't that bad on a high power mobile CPU.
Our assessments would be helped by some specifics on the laptop though, like brand, model, cpu, gpu, etc.
