HI,
I am planning to buy a internal hard drive. I would like to know if t here is any difference between the SATA SSD (2.5 inch) and SSD (2.5 inch) or is it the same thing?

Solution
An SSD is a Solid State Drive. It is different from a Hard Drive.

A hard drive has physical platters...like an old school record player. In some cases, it has several platters. An SSD has ram chips on no moving parts. SSD is a newer, faster technology that uses less energy.

Sata is a bus interface. It is the biggest current style of interface. You also have PCI, PCIE, and a few older ones such as ATA and PATA.

So saying something is an SSD says its a solid state drive. Saying something is SATA SSD states the interface AND the drive.

TL:DR Sata is different than SSD but is used with SSD's.
