The Mobo that I bought has 3 m.2 slots, and comes with one full coverage m.2 heatsink. Should I buy an m.2 ssd for these features? Or should I save money with a sata ssd?

Thanks :)

Depends on the price, some of those NVMe SSD's are quite fast. I helped a buddy of mine build his system and he used the 970 EVO and the Win10 installation was insanely fast, like 3-4x faster then my 860 EVO SATA but boot time was only slightly faster. Not sure how much faster it is in regular use but I would think if your doing any form of video editing or anything that prefers a fast drive it may be a good choice. It also depends on how much more it is over a SATA drive, when he got his it was on sale and only like $20 more so it was a good choice at the time (black Friday).

NVMe SSD are specifically made for those users who process lot of data on daily basis like youtubers, studio editor, film makers, animation professionals and data centers hence they would need technology which should be faster and reliable for their day to day work.

For gamers and average user, NVMe is overkill in most of the way because system boot and application loading time is not marginal also price difference of SATA and NVMe is higher hence it is not advisable.
