I hooked up a laptop hard drive to my pc. Not sure what happened. But the end result was me disconnecting it and windows popping up screens saying it needs to repair. both the laptop and pc have amd cpu. the laptop was on win 8 and the pc on win 10. Any way I can hook it up to see if i can get anything off the hard drive or to see if its any good? As it is the laptop is a samsung series 3 notebook and it wont go past the samsung screen.

You connect that drive as a secondary drive and retrieve what you need from it.
Not to try to boot from it.

Moving a drive between systems and hoping it just boots up usually fails. Like in this case.

So are you saying dont power down the pc and just hook it up like a hard drive to see whats on it?

No.
Power OFF
Connect it to another SATA port and power.
Then, power up. It should be seen as a different drive letter.

Don't try to boot from it.

i am not trying to boot from it. Every time i tried your way it was the same as when i first tried it. I tried it while the pc is on and detected new hardware and I was able to get past the error screen until I tried to open the drive and view it. and the errors came back. I couldn't even get to check disk So I'm guessing its just dead. I don't know of any other way.
