Hello everyone. I have recently put together a new computer. I am using I7 9770k + MSI Geforce gtx 1080ti. At the place I bought my parts from, they told me that my psu from my previous system (SilverStone 700W Strider Essential - 80 Plus Bronze) will be enough to run this system, because I am not planning to overclock anything. Would you agree? I have used the new computer only a few hours so far, and it seems okay. Can I stick with the current PSU, or would you really recommend I buy a new one?

Cheers!

Bare in mind it going to really break the bank if your system gets wasted....

I wouldn't even turn it on with that PSU, if it was me.

A good high quality PSU, 650W units.

Seasonic Focus Plus
EVGA G2 or G3
Corsair RMX

Mediocre psu but at the end of the day you have over 200w clear headroom so yeah it's enough to run that configuration easily.

However many would suggest a new better quality psu simply because you've spent an awful lot of money there on new components.

Even though I've never been a 'psu snob', even average quality budget psu's like your Silverstone have their place imo, I would honestly be inclined to agree with the parts you're running.

There is no way in hell I would run those parts on that PSU.

A better quality unit is highly recommended.

That thing isn't even a 700W PSU, it's really only a 552W UNIT, if it can even do that much.

Replace that POS.

Although i really appreciate the answers, i am now a little bit more confused than i was before i posted this question :)

Jankerson, if i may, (and i am only asking because i do not know the answer) you would not run these parts on that psu, because these parts cannot run at full capacity with this psu? Or this psu could actually damage the parts? Or both?

BOTH...

It's one of the worst PSU's on the market.

Understood. Thanks for the input. Keeping in mind that i sort of broke the bank putting this pc together, do you have a psu suggestion for me? You know something that will do the job and allow me to sleep better and night but not more?
