Hey I have my computer up and running and I realize that I cant play many games on it that I was intending to (not looking for max settings just 1080 60fps) After reading the forms I realize that my I3 7100 wasn't the best option, though I started buying parts during the Mining craze so things were pricey. I was wondering if this GPU would be good with my computer: (GTX 1050/1050ti) if not this one which ones are a better option?

CPU is an I3 7100 (7th gen)

Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA B250m DS3H

RAM is Patriot ViperElite x2 8 GB Modules

PSU is a Cooler Master GM series G750 watt

if u want or need more info ill be happy to give it.

Thanks for the answer and that was fast! If you wouldn't mind answering another question :)
Is the 1050ti worth getting over the 1050?

UPDATE:

Went to UserBenchmark and GameDebate.com and both sites showed that the rx 570 is in fact better then the 1050, the only downside being power usage (GD.com), but not an issue with my 750 watt PSU :)

It depends on the price where you are I think, where I am it is $60 more expensive to go from a 1050 to a 1050ti. If it is something similar to that price I don't think it would be worth it. That is if you dont mind playing on lower settings.

I have around the same price gap, but it depends on the model (gb and clock speed profile ect.)

Out of curiosity what CPU do you have? I made this thread because I heard my cpu would bottleneck the 1050. Im kinda on a budget but insightful info. Based on your answer it seems like I should upgrade my CPU and get a better GPU instead but I got it running like 2 months ago (lol) I kinda feel stupid.

I have the ryzen 1700x. I really got a deal on it. I got it used from a friend for 75 dollars.

That said, for not much more than the 1050ti, I would look at the rx 570 or the rx 580. Though that is going to be about 200 or a little over for the 580.

In either case, get the 8gb version. When I ran the Assassin's Creed Origins benchmark, I was maybe getting in the low 40s. I saw the graph of performance and pretty much my cpu was twiddling it's thumbs waiting for the GPU.

I realize it is more money, I'm telling you though, it's a whole new level in graphics. I had an rx 480 8gb before the 1050ti. I sold it and made some money on it during the mining craze, and got the 1050ti as a stopgap card until I could get a better card (hoping to get a Vega 56 or maybe a gtx 1070 at Christmas). But between the 480 and the 1050ti, the 1050ti was a noticeable step backwards. Is it an ok card? Yes. Will you want to upgrade it soon? Probably. If you are already laying down 150 for a card, get at least an RX 570 or 580.

However, look up on YouTube about the Rx 3070. Supposedly in the next few months, AMD is releasing cards around the 200-300 dollar range that can compete with the rtx 2070. Don't ask me how true the leaks are they are citing, but if true, the 1050ti I would say for sure will show it's age very quickly.

In your situation, I'd get the best card you can afford.

Then I would start saving my pennies toward a new cpu and motherboard. The i3 was a decent cpu, but since ryzen came out, quad core processors, or dual cores with hyper threading are showing age more quickly. So when you're able, you will want to go for at least a 6 core i5, or, like in my situation, look at AMD ryzen. Which the rumor is that in about 6 months or so AMD will release their ryzen 3000 series. Although, if you save up and get an 7th generation i7, that may not be a bad option. But depending on how much one would cost, you might be able to get a ryzen 5 cpu and a b350/450 board for nearly the same money. Especially when the new ryzen series comes out, their 2000 series may go on sale. I know when the 2000 series came out, you could get the 1000 series for less. Like at microcenter, I think the ryzen 5 1600 which is 6 cores, 12 threads, was going for around 120 dollars. If you have one near you, they do a discount on a board. So say if your cpu is 120, and the board you want is 70, you get the board for 30 dollars off. So 40 dollars. Plus, if you sold the i3 and motherboard, those would probably have a little resale value.

But primarily, start with a better GPU.
