What gaming monitor should i buy?

Hey guys, I'm currently using a very old monitor (DELL 1704FPV) and I wanna buy a new gaming monitor for competitive gameplay. I've looked up and researched but this has just gotten me more stressed and confused.

My computer is an i5-7400 CPU.
3.00 GHz
8 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

I love 2 games that I'm playing and that's Fortnite and Rainbow 6 Siege. Cheers.

How large it is doesn't matter for me, maybe a 24 or 27 inches monitor.

Use DP (Display Port) or HDMI.

DP is better though.
