[SOLVED] Intel XTU inconsistencies

Solution
try un-installing XTU - on two systems, both Z97 chipset boards, i'd use XTU and it was great for changing settilngs in BIOS from windows, but if i left it installed, my BIOS would go un-stable, settings would change spontaneously

it's working great on my Windows 10 Z390 combo, but it might be the cause of your issues

pentium g4560 with b250m

Poor choice for OC.

Base Clock overclocking greatly increases instability of not just your CPU, but your memory and possibly your PCIE lanes which causes further instability. As you have discovered, the BCLK multiplier doesn't go very high before getting unstable.

For overclocking Intel platform, you need a "k" processor with an unlocked multiplier and a "Z" model Intel Chipset motherboard.

When overclocking fails, you need to clear the CMOS. This will return the motherboard BIOS to default values. Be sure to disconnect the AC power to the PC before attempting to clear the CMOS.
