https://pcpartpicker.com/list/px3TRJ. Ok these are the components of my pc (visit link). I can play a game like xenoverse 2 and no problem. But I start playing a game like gta v and it will reboot with only 5 minutes of gaming. I am new at this. I am not sure how to fix the problem. Based on what I have read. The psu is new but it was cheap should I buy a different psu? Or what should I try first

Solution

You need to install the RAM in the DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 slots, which are the second and fourth slots from the CPU side. Installing them in two consecutive slots does affect performance, but shouldn't cause reboots...
Check temperatures of the CPU and GPU, using HWMonitor(*both under load and when idle). The PSU is of decent quality, but of course it can't be completely ruled out yet. Check Event Viewer and see what Critical Error is shown corresponding to the time your PC reboots during gaming.

I just tried your advise but based on current results I believe current numbers should be fine

It is weird if I play gta V in a lower resolution the pc doesnt reboot. it is until I increase the graphics that it reboots.

These temperatures are when your CPU and GPU are idle, try putting a load on the CPU and GPU and see what the temperatures are. You can use AIDA64 to put a synthetic load on the PC. Also, did you check Event Viewer?

Hi! Thanks sorry for the late response. I have this message from Event Viewer

I Will try AIDA 64 asap

I just noticed I can play gta v or xenoverse 2 if I play with lower resolution. But once I increase resolution it shuts down.

Ok so I have the following reports

what could be the cause?

Let the stress test run for at least 10 minutes, and use HWMonitor for the temps, you don't need to check the other things right now, just the temperatures. Let the stress test run till the temperature doesn't stop increasing, and once it has leveled off, take a screenshot of the HWMonitor CPU and GPU stats. Putting a 4 second load on the CPU won't tell you whether it's running hot or not.

Let me check the hwmonitor. However the problem is that as soon as I run the test it is when it freezes and reeboots. It is not like I am quiting the stress test. I start the test and it takes about 5 to 9 seconds and the problem begins

This can be a PSU problem. Is the PSU still under warranty? I would suggest you to get a replacement.

P.S: Before that, try running memtest86(you need to put the memtest files on an empty USB, then boot from that USB) to check for RAM errors. Bad RAM can also cause random reboots.

Ok so I did the memtest 86
And froze at minute 8 and 35 seconds
I took the picture:

Does this means the RAM has an issue?

The MOBO has the black and grey slots. When a friend helped me with the building, he said something about both pairs being installed in the same color. But he had a difficultie and put one on a black slot and the 2nd one on a grey slot, and that way it was easier for him to install the ram. I don't know if this could be a problem.

You need to install the RAM in the DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 slots, which are the second and fourth slots from the CPU side. Installing them in two consecutive slots does affect performance, but shouldn't cause reboots.

As for the memtest86 freezing, I can't say for sure what that indicates. Usually, if the RAM is bad, memtest86 will just find errors instead of freezing. Do one thing, remove one stick of RAM(preferably remove the one from slot B2, and leave a stick in slot A2) and then run memtest86, then swap out the stick with the other one and run memtest86 again.

I have the following updates: I found out the first 2 slots are not working only the last 2. I tried dif combinations one memory with both in the diff slots and yeah the two 1st slots are giving the mo o error 55. Now I tried to work with the remaining slots. I modified the ram settings to 2133 mHz and now I tried the stress tests and had no porblems. This time system didnt reboot after 5 min of stress. I waited for 15 min and all ok. Temperature of gpu and cpu were fine. I will update the report asap. But it seems like the issue was with the mobo. What do you think? By the way the pc was rebooting while playing xenoverse 2 with max graphics and now with current ram settings it is working fine with no reboots at all

Perhaps, since you are running the RAM in single channel mode, that's why it couldn't run stable at the higher settings. Increase the RAM speed step by step and get the maximum stable RAM speed that doesn't cause memtest to freeze or Windows to reboot. Run memtest for one full pass just to be sure, and that should fix the issue. You should ideally RMA the board since it has bad memory slots, if it's still under warranty.
