Hello,

So obviously HP uses proprietary parts to a frustrating degree. I'm in the process of moving the parts from my son's HP Compaq Elite 8300 Convertible Microtower to a new case, with a new PSU in order to get it working with a graphics card and other upgrades.

I've already got an adapter to be able to power the HP motherboard with the new PSU so that's not an issue.

The only thing left that needs to be done is to reinstall the CPU cooler onto the same OEM motherboard. The problem however, is that I don't have a backplate for the cooler to screw into because the OEM backplate is molded directly into the HP microtower case.

So I'm here to ask if anyone knows of any backplates I can find that would be compatible with the HP cooler? I have a spare Intel 1155 cooler but it has a square shape whereas the motherboard is fitted for a rectangular cooler.

If there are no backplates, what kind of bolts can I use to fit the cooler's screws?
