MSI Laptop No Video At All

Hi, I've got an MSI GT62VR 6RE laptop that has recently had a problem. I turned it off one night, and after turning it on the following morning there was no video from the laptop screen, or the HDMI and miniDP outputs. Any help figuring out where the problem is coming from and if its fixable would be appreciated. So far I've done the following..

Tried different install of Windows
Tried on battery vs. wall power
Tried different cables/monitors
Taken the laptop apart, re-seated the MXM GPU, reapplied thermal paste
Done the battery drain by holding the power button for a couple minutes

This. Also If it was plugged in at night, you might have fried the board. The power hits the board power rail first, then the card, but any component could be fried. I'd check if you're warrantee is still active and not touch anything else, but maybe someone else knows this better.

To add to this, I know it makes it into Windows when I power it on, I can here the login sound eventually. I have tried removing the RAM and drive, there is no audible beep. I have multiple drives with different clean installs of Windows that I've tried.

As far as I know there shouldn't have been any power surges during the night (not storming, and the laptop is plugged into a surge protector). Also no warranty.

So it does turn on OK, lights, sounds, etc.. just no display? Try removing the MXM video card, have it use the onboard video, see if that works.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately this is a G-Sync model so the onboard graphics is disabled.

From what it sounds like, you have a failure somewhere in the hardware. If you know someone that is an expert at component/board repair, go to him. When people used to come to me with a laptop problem like that, I told we don't touch hardware. But I know it's becoming more popular these days for repair shops specialize in repairing boards/soldering/components. It's not something a regular IT company can do, it's specialty work. But if you find one, for $100 you might get a perfectly resoldered GPU connection or whatever failed. Get an estimate first though.

No display going straight to BIOS. Thanks for the help, ya I figured the problem is somewhere in the GPU or mobo, so I'll prob have to take it to a shop like you said. Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips that I hadn't thought of.
