2 different Ram sets across 4 slots?

Okay before i get into this, i know in theory it is a bad idea but lets continue.

So i currently have 2x4gb of Corsair VENGEANCE cm4x4gf2133c13k4. And im seeing some issues in more RAM demanding games, so im looking to upgrade. When going to upgrade i know its best to try get the same identical set from the manufacturer. However, wherever i look i cannot for the life of me find the same letters and numbers, only ones that are pretty close. The RAM ive been looking at is Corsair CMK8GX4M2A2133C13R Vengeance LPX 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4 2133 MHz.

Both RAM sets would be kept as pairs, in different channels. They both run at the exact same clock speed, and other than the number they are the exact same set. Would this be worth a shot?

I wouldn't go there unless I saw that only two letters at the end of the SKU was different, for example the R in the latter mentioned kit denotes the red heat spreaders. In reality,(and if I were you), I'd get a brand new ram kit and sell the one I already have.

You already know that mixing and matching rams only leads to either grey hair or hair pulling = going bald. I doubt you'll find much stability since they will also likely be binned differently. If the shot you speak of didn't involve any investments, I'd ask you to go ahead but if you buy and end up with BSOD's, you'll know why they happened to begin with.

Mind sharing your full system's specs?

Alright, you're system isn't balanced. Why did you get a B250 chipset and pair it with a K suffix processor? Now, you're either going to have to drop to a non K processor and pick up a DDR4-2400MHz ram kit or upgrade the board to a Z270 chipset and pick up a DDR4-3200MHz ram kit.

Either which way, they will be your prime attention seekers as opposed to trying to hunt and buy the same ram you already have.

When i upgraded the processor, there was only £15 difference between the 7700, and the 7700k , so i didnt think there would be an issue. I did plan on upgrading the board, but im not comfortable removing and refitting my water cooler, also my windows and warranty is locked to my board.
