Hi,

i have a laptop without a Thunderbolt port. And I was thinking that adding a Thunderbolt port using an external adapter might come in handy. That way I can connect a graphics card to the laptop as well as other thunderbolt enabled stuff.

I was thinking of using a xcsource® v8.4 exp gdc PCIe-E 16 x to do just that. Do you think this is possible? Please share your thoughts.

That is not a thunderbolt port adapter, it connects a PCIe slot to the mSATA port on the laptop motherboard. Usually it's a waste of time doing that since you will need an external power supply as well as the video card handing off a cable going through the case. The speed is also limited to PCIe x1 so it will bottleneck many video cards past low end stuff.
