Hi, I am using Ubuntu as my Operating system in my laptop, sometimes it just freeze, the only solution is pressing power button to turn off. My question is This is gonna be ruin my hardware like Hard-drive failure Motherboard life time, I don't have worry about data corruption, and data lost because i have everything backup, but hardware failure is really a night mare??

Yes, abrupt power losses isn't a healthy thing to have on a laptop.

Can you pass on the make and model of your laptop? Are you on the latest BIOS? How are you sure that your HDD(assuming) isn't at fault or that your OS itself has corruption?

i see some articles> if sudden power loss occur on meanwhile time of system update/upgrade will cause the Operating system corruption

And some other article says http:// they mentioned nowadays force shutdown will not damage your hardware but the current fluctuation does . i came to hear some other thoughts about that question
