What are your thoughts on the new RTX 2060 priced at 350$
I'm hearing mixed comments currently after the launch.

Personally i think there are no serious improvements for Nvidia to showcase except the lighting effects of the future.
The RTX 2060 is said to compete with GTX 1070Ti which has more RAM and cuda cores, so hardware wise it has the upper hand expect the faster GDDR6 but due to game optimization it stays slightly below 2060.

Let me summarize getting a 1070Ti around 350$ now will get you same performance as an RTX 2060 with lesser RAM and some light effects, where is the actual improvement?

Solution
Im in the market for a new GPU and the RTX2060 is at the top end of my budget. It out performs the RX590 but is £70 more expensive.

Im going to see what AMD announce this week before i make a decision on which i go for, or wait for AMDs next card.

Lesser hardware specs for literally the same price, people would then just buy 1070Ti and call it a day.
i don't see future proofing with that lesser RAM and growing RAM usage in games except the fact the RTX 2060 will have more optimized drivers compared to 1070Ti.

Consumer electronics get obsolete FAST..... Always buy the latest thing, even if it is not the best. After warranty spares and repairs will be available longer for the newest devices.

I slightly disagree but when you have extended warranty periods for the GPU's like 10 years from EVGA, when they get obsolete you will get an equivalent GPU most probably in our case 1070Ti will be replaced with RTX 2060 which is more of a downgrade according to me.
Anyways regarding GPU's invest in a good manufacturer :D

"Lesser hardware specs for literally the same price"

Maybe where you are, but in the UK the cheapest 1070ti is £420 (https://www.scan.co.uk/products/palit-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-dual-8gb-gddr5-vr-ready-graphics-card-2432-core-1607mhz-gpu-1683mhz-boost)

while the RTX2060 is listed on Nvidia UK as £329

So in the UK at least the RTX2060 is good value

Agreed, i saw GTX 1070Ti selling for 350$ this holiday season, anyways my point is that people who waited for a better hardware for the price 350 bucks will definitely be disappointed compared to what the RTX 2060 provides now.

Yes based on your market conditions it seems to be a better option. If you can get a 1070Ti brand new for that same budget that would be a steal for sure and best bang for buck.
I too really hope AMD to provide best value for money and an actual performance bump than a side-grade.
