So I'm a complete newbie/noob when it comes to this stuff. Bought my friend's gaming rig a little while ago but now I think it needs an upgrade. Check out my setup below and please recommend components to me along with rough prices, trying to keep the cost low and efficiency high as always. Many thanks!

I'll give to 2 as an example

Starcraft 2 - Everything on Ultra, can drop frames with too much happening but it takes a lot
Warhammer Total War 2 - Maxes out my GPU with minimal settings and runs at 20fps

PSU - Couldn't tell you off the top of my head...

So if I'm going to start from fresh, what build do you think I should go for? I need specifics as opposed to general direction, as I say I'm new to this and learning slowly.

I play a lot of RTS games, some harder than others. My most demanding game right now would probably be Total War Warhammer II, but there are always more coming out!

Awesome list, this looks very promising. I'm based in the UK and the list seems to struggle to find the power supply and the video card.

Also, would I need to switch the case? I'm very fond of the Cooler Master :D

No not all, keep the coolermaster, I just put one in there for completeness. Didn't realise you were in the UK, here's another suggestion as the 8400 is quite a bit more than 2600
