I had two 1gb rams i have decided to upgrade and to add instead of one 1gb ram 2 gb which I successfully did. Now I am interested whether this extra 1gb really is in use. Right clicking my computer and in BIOS it does show 3gb but in one of the forums I read that it can be displayed but not really in use, how can I check whether it is really used or not and not just displayed.

Thanks for the suggestions, speccy was really helpful, I tried to open programs, and then I closed as much as possible and it showed 2.09 free memory so that should mean that there is more than just 2 gb ram and it did increase. My suspicion aroused because memory usage does not add up in the task manager, but that seems to be a common issue I guess.
And one additional thing that I have noticed is that after installing additional ram extra memory was taken on my d disc.
