[SOLVED] 2sticks of ram not working,

Need help if i slotted 1 4gb ram on its working if i put i slot both 2 4gb sticks.it appears no signal. my msi military class 4 Motherboard and my video card is NVIDIA GeForce GT730 its an old pc though and my DDR3 ram is 4gb ea why is it not working?

Just to clarify by ‘mixing’ RAM I mean bought separately. Even buying the same make and model separately can have issues, it’s far less likely but still possible. It is recommended you buy your RAM as a single kit.

Hmm my friend gave me a spare of 4gb ram and i tried and hoping that it works but suddenly it didnt. My friend also have different brand of ram but the size is just the same like two 4gb rams but diff brands. I wonder why on mine its not working tsk. My motherboard is MSI military class 4 its an old one though needed to upgrade for sure.
