My case fans are slightly noisy at the minimum speed of around 1000 RPM. This isn't an issue under normal use as it's almost inaudible, but the computer is in my bedroom where the low humming sound is a disturbance at night.

I thought of completely turning the fans off below a certain temperature, but the UEFI on my motherboard doesn't allow you to turn off the fan at any temperature above 40C. Unfortunately my CPU idles just around 40C so that means my fans keep turning on and off.

Is there any other way to control the fans, via Windows perhaps?

AI suite 3 helped me control the fans much more rudimentarily direct from Windows. Looks like the minimum speed of my fans is actually 600 RPM, where it runs much more silent. Not sure why I didn't know about the existence of this software before. This seems to basically be the only way to control the fans from Windows.

Also, the software seems to be buggy and causes the computer occassionally go to a black screen, where even holding down the power button won't fix it, so you have to turn off the power supply switch. So I just set the fan curve and close the software. The fan curve once set persists even after restarts without needing to launch the software again.
