1. Be careful what you mean by "keep my files"
2. Assuming your laptop has space for the two drives.

Obtain an external drive or USB stick.
Copy your personal files to that external drive
Power off
Remove the HDD
Install the SSD
Install the OS, drivers, etc. on the SSD. How to do a CLEAN installation of Windows 10
Once it is all working on the SSD, reconnect the HDD
In Disk Management, delete ALL partitions on the HDD. Also, this might require the commandline function diskpart, and the clean command.

So now you have the OS and applications on the SSD, and a completely blank HDD.
Copy your personal data back to the HDD, and proceed on.

Thank your <3

Do I really have to disconnect and reconnect the HDD ? can't I just boot from the usb and install windows on the ssd ?

Yes, physically disconnect the HDD.
Otherwise, you may end up with a pseudo dualboot situation. The install will see the HDD, and merge the boot info into the already existing boot partition.

Physical disconnection.
