[SOLVED] PC turns on for a split second and then turns off again

I just came home and thought I’d go on my PC, bearing in mind it was only used the night previously and the components such as the MOBO, CPU, COOLER and RAM are all new. The pc powered on for 1 second at the most and then powered off again. It then continued to do a cycle of trying to POST. What could be wrong?

It could be a number of problems - have you got one of those handy post code LCD screens on your motherboard, or alternatively is it giving you a series of beeps? Working out which part of post is failing would help you narrow it down.

What are the specs of your system?

I've experienced similar behaviour myself caused by a dodgy molex to pcie power adapter, so it could be a dodgy / loose cable I guess.
