Can anyone help me overclock my fx8350 I’ve tried various YouTube videos and various voltages and speeds but it always freezes and shuts down. I have a sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and fx8350. Any help would be appreciated right now I have it on 4.3ghz automatic overclock performance setting. 4.5 or 4.6 would be great.

Solution
if you could not have it stable on 4.3 in auto you wont be able to go further it will not support it and freezes or shut down even if other have faster speed with this cpu .

It’s been a few hours prime 95 and hwm 4.5ghz 1.28v but I noticed after awhile some cores aren’t fully at 100% after about an hour for example at one point cores1-4 were at 100% while the rest was at 1% or 0% now I see 1-4 100 5,6, at low flucating % 7 at 100 and 8 at a high fluctuating %. What could this be? But so far no freezing or blue screen

I actually accidentally changed it docp and it messed up my whole overclock I had to change everything and i had to go through freezing and had to recalibrate everything but overnight I did another 5 hour stress test and it was okay and I just play a couple games for the last 4 hours and nothing happened. When I put the voltage up temps basically just get higher.

DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU HAVE FACTORY COOLER max temp on a 8350 is 62c on core and 70c on socket
I run liquid
Hello, I never use multiplier.. I'm at 5.2 stable 24 hour prime95. fx 8350 gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 r5 V1, let me run down a good config for 4.5 for ya. all bios no auto crap you need prime95, cpu-z,speedfan, HWmonitor, Heaven dx11 they are all free everytime you twik it run a 10-15 min prime95 when you get a good stable speed run a good 6+ hour test on each. First things first take your time go in small steps IE .125 volt per try.. config your bios settings.. some wording will be different.
advanced tab: cool n quiet disabled, c1e disabled, svm disabled, core c6 state leave enabled, hpc disabled, apm enabled
Overclock tuner: Manuel, cpu ratio take it off auto and set a static default 20.0, turbo core disabled, memory freqencey set static my memory is 2133, cpu/NB set static 2200MHz, HT link set static 2600MHz , cpu spread spectrum disable, pcie spread auto, epu power disable, xtream tweaking if you have it enable, leave dram auto, cpu load line High Only if you have a good PSU IE gold, cpu/NB high, over current protection i have set at 140% if that scares you set too 110- 120%, the rest leave default
CPU voltage set it static default ie 1.382 And CPU/NB at 1.2. This gives you max default OC and gives you a Stable start without the auto power saving crap.
Now the OC:: CPU bus frequency or FSB or BSF factory is 200 we are going for max OC at stock voltage, this is your multiplyer * cpu frequency so 20* 200= 4000MHz watch how this changes your NB,HT and Ram Speeds you might need to adjust ram speed to keep it close to your default ram speed.... so lets try 220 that gives you 4400 f10 save and test.
Voltages: I know the fx-8450 will take 4.5 all day long at these specs: bus 240, cpu voltage 1.40 at these settings my HT is at 3000MHz, my ram is corsair and I left it OC aswell and runs at 20c wile i type this and max 43c at 100% So take your time step by step always test .0125 could be the difference of a stable system and a blue screen .. Good luck

That means you have cores failing so your realy only running a few cores stable that is why i do not use multiplier for AMD
