Will tower type cpu cooler be an issue for my rig

I have mid tower rig with 2 fan intakes at front and 3 fan exhaust (2 up and 1 rear). I have the following rig:
1. Asus Strix b250G . This has dedicated heat sink for VRM area.
2. i7 7700.
3. 2x8gb G-Skill Ripjaws V (which also has dedicated heat sink).
4. Mid tower with 5 fans. 2 front intake, 1 rear out, 2 top out(exhaust). (Model Circle CC 821 Prime)
5. 1050 Ti OC 4 GB.

I use intel stock cooler up until now. I don't plan to overclock (probably not possible too). In full load my processor temp goes upto 82-84c (from ~40c at idle).

I plan of upgrading my stock fan to aftermarket solutions. However I am pretty confused seeing the debate of tower CPU cooler causing hindrance to VRM and Mobo cooling. But then again, tower type coolers are best for CPU cooling.
So I'd like to ask you : If I should choose between tower type coolers (gammax 400 to be specific) or a top down (downdraft) cooler.

Solution
Thats a good quality board & a locked cpu.

You don't need to worry about vrm temps or airflow in your setup.

That said I'm not 100% sure the gammaxx 400 will fit.

Your case specs state 155mm max cpu cooler height, the gammaxx 400 is 155mm in height.

At a guess I think it will fit BUT its a risk

Thanks a lot for answering. In the product description page, the gammaxx 400 is said to be 154.5mm in height. ( more specifically 135x80x154.5). I hope it does fit. Otherwise my second choice will be antec a40 pro. But that is a 92mm fan. I don't know the performance difference between a 92mm and 120 mm fan. Do you have any recommendation?

Hi Satyaki, if you were concerned about Mobo cooling, would you be opposed by chance to a down draft cooler?

On my previous PC that is now my back-up, I was limited by the case at the time prior to switching to my new one, so I looked and the GeminII S524 Ver.2 from Coolermaster to fit it and it worked really well for PC at the time.

This particular model comes with a120mm fan standard but can be upgraded to a 140mm.

Seems like this model is discontinued in the product description page. I will go for a downdraft only if tower type option is not viable.

I'm looking at the bulge in the side panel & in all honesty I reckon the gammaxx 400 will fit.

Thst said consider the gammaxx 300 & s40 coolers, they're still 120mm but considerably lower in height.

They're not as good as the 400 but they'll handle a locked i7 absolutely fine.

Actually the gammaxx 400 has a fan starting height of 31 mm, and my G Skill RipJaws has 42mm height, so I have to raise the fan to 10mm up which in turn will be added to the tower height. So that is going to cross the 155mm height clearance. I think I am going to go with gammaxx 300 as it will not be almost the same as the height clearance of my cabinet.
gammaxx 300 has 3 heatpipes I see (whereas 400 has 4 of them). Anything better than intel stock cooler will do at this point.

At some point I had antec c400 in mind, but it too have that 155mm height. The review of antec c400 is very good. In linustech cpu cooler tier list, it is placed above CM hyper 212 (which is the go to cooler for almost everyone it seems.) .
