Has anyone updated their HPZ 400 workstation with the Nvidia GTX 1060 card.I'm thinking of getting it but I'm unsure of compatibility.Mainly I think the question seems to be around the power supply and if it has a 6 pin connector for the card?

I've had a look inside the case. The power supply is a Delta 475w but the 6 pin PCIE cable is split. It appears 3 wires are coming from the PSU and the other 3 wires are coming from a circuit board plugged into the motherboard. What is this other board for and would this lead configuration work with the GTX 1060 card?
I would upload pictures I have taken but I can't work out how to do this.Is it possible to upload pictures from my PC?
Thanks

I'm planning on getting the Nvidia EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card. It's the single fan version so should be fine space wise and the PSU for my HP Z400 is rated at 475W which I believe is fine for the card. It's the connection that bothers me as the 6 pin pci plug connected to my existing graphics card is split between the power supply and another circuit board. Here are a couple of pictures.

Yup there’s more proof that it works! As I said before you should have no problems with the 6-pin PCIe power connecter.

As I said before upgrading the PSU would allow me to upgrade the GPU to a higher level. Because one of the only things limiting the upgrade IS the PSU. Therefor making the Z400 more future proof. But that’s just me :p. You can do whatever you please with that GTX! You can stay updated on that forum if you’d like. Good luck.

And he did use the stock PSU with the 6 pin.

Also I see you have the 6-DIMM Verion of the Z400.

Update your bios and install the Xeon X5690. Is it THE BEST CPU you can install in the system. It works I guarantee it. I’m using it right now.

Also sorry this is off topic. But I’m maxing out my Z400. You can message me in DM if you wanna talk. I have a full scale document of all the upgrades.
