hi guys
My cpu is hitting 98 degrees while gaming, It is not running with any overclock its stock.
System
CPU
i7700k
Motherboard
Asus strix 270E
RAM
Corsair vengence 16gb
GPU
MSI RTX 2080 Gaming Trio X
Case
Inwin 503
PSU
Seasonic 650w focus FX
Cooling
Titan Dragonfly 3 (i think this maybe the problem)

I have only had this problem since i put my new gpu in, i upgraded from a rx480 to a rtx 2080, would it be the new gpu pushes more hot air up into my cpu cooler and that is what is getting the crazy temps? Before i upgraded it was around 80 degrees and my idle temps has always been around 48 degrees
I have been using msi afterburner to monitor this

Thanks for any help

Solution
I bet the new GPU shifted the bottlneck to your cpu so it has to work harder. I'd definitely be looking for a better cooler. Cyroig h5/h7 should be fine if they'll fit in your case

It is entirely possible that while installing the new card you bumped/shook the cpu cooler. Before going and getting a new cooler, you should at least try to reinstall your previous cooler (use some new thermal paste). Changing the gpu should NOT cause your cpu to go from 80 to 98, even if it is the bottleneck.
