I have a p6-2330 which was running a little slow and wanted to add some ram. I purchased the patriot viper 3 1866MHz 2x8Gb set which claims compatible to amd and intel processors. Not really sure if its the ram or something else. What can I try or is this a compatibility issue?

amd A6-5400k
Radeon HD 7540

Ok, so keep the old memory in the computer and remove the new kit. Update the motherboard BIOS, once that's done remove the old kit and add in the new kit. Memory is very finicky and even if you bought a identical kit there's a chance it wouldn't work so mixing and matching kits can give you even a higher chance of not working correctly which is what your experiencing.

Also welcome to the forum!

yes, I did not remove the old kit, but the are on separate channels. I also thought the Bios was supposed to be upgraded after install? so no I haven't changed that either.

Yes, you can update the bios to the latest version. Don't forget to also update any and all of the chipset drivers for the motherboard, found in the same place. Audio and Lan are a must as older drivers will often have conflicts with newer updates of Win10CE.

So for sure, I can update a BIOS version created for windows 8.1 even though I'm currently using 10? If so here I go and thank you.
