CPU temperature goes high up booting causing shutdowns

Hi, i did a post earlier that hasnt been solved but i think this would be a proper solution to what's happening to my pc
i turn it on and it shoots to 77 degrees at startup even on bios
on the desktop it's 79, if I'm lucky it will be on 30-50 there doing nothing, but when i do anything, it goes up to 80 again, stays up a bit and then it shuts down
i put steren brand silicon based heat grease because the grey thermal paste that was preapplied with my cpu and cpu cooler was dried off
i have no idea what's causing this.
Yes it's properly spread, it's stitting correctly and everything, it's been like this for a week amd I've tried so many solutions
setup:
CPU: AMD - FX-6300
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard
RAM: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1333
PSU: EVGA - 500 W 80+ Certified ATX
HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Rosewill - REDBONE ATX Mid Tower Case

Solution
Sounds like your cooler may be broken in some way, likely the mounting hardware as the heatsink itself is just a hunk of metal. You're probably going to have to replace it if you can't get your temps down after multiple remounts.
What are you using for a CPU cooler? If it's a closed loop liquid cooler, then you may have a bad pump causing it to not work. If not your cooler is probably not mounted correctly.

Also for AMD FX CPUs, check CPU temps with AMD Overdrive when in Windows and make sure your thermal margin isn't near zero, other monitoring utilities don't offer accurate thermal readings with AMD's FX CPUs due to the odd way AMD chose to implement temperature sensors for those CPUs.

Can't find the reply button on mobile. Ugh.
I use the cooler that came with my cpu
and how would it be not mounted properly?
and my thermal margin sometimes is negative 1.something or negative 0.something, then 2 to 4 degrees nd goes up and down like that constantly

Okay you are definitely overheating. Check to make sure the fan on the CPU cooler is still spinning. If the fan works, then the CPU cooler has to be mounted incorrectly and it isn't making proper contact with the CPU. Try cleaning off the paste, applying new paste and remount the cooler. If you can't get the cooler to fit securely, then the mounting hardware may have been damaged and you'd have to replace the cooler.

I reapplied the paste, the fan works normally, it was fine for a couple of minutes, i could watch some videos on YouTube to test it but sometimes it froze and my screen signal would go out and i would have to reopen chrome, i opened geforce experience to update my drivers, opened msi afterburner to see how it was going, and as soon as i saw the temperature, it was 78 degrees and it froze, it's the first time it has done this and i had to reboot my computer.

It was my cooler indeed, the latch of the cooler was broken
i layed my pc on the floor so the heatsink would press more against the cpu and it's working fine now
thanks for your help!
