yeah so I currently have this motherboard---
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dx58so.html
My current PC has-
i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz
4 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333MHz(1 gb 4 sticks)
GT9600 512 MB
Vista 32 bit.
I wanted to upgrade because the video card is not good enough and I have been having overheating issues lately.
I was thinking of getting the i5 2500k
dual GTX 560 Ti(yeah 2 of them)
8GB corsair@ 1666MHz
Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.
will my motherboard support these things?
KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAVE BEEN HAVING OVERHEATING ISSUES!!!
Can I use my present CPU?(i7 920....again...overheating....)
or is the i5 2500k better?
I want to play games like battlefield 3 and the upcoming GTA 5
thanks a lot! :) :)

If everything still works, the answer is no. Your video problems (if any) aren't related to the cpu. I had one of the i5's up to 90c, and it still worked ok. What are you going to do with your power supply? Before you talk of getting a new board or video card, you may need a better power supply.

well.
My computer used to shut down on its own and the main reason for the overheating was the PSU.
It's fan used to stop working...nothing used to happen with the CPU.
Are you sure I can reuse my CPU?
I WILL get a new PSU.....my current one is a piece of sh*t.
I guess 750W cooler master should be good?
Is the i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz good enough for games like battlefield 3 at 1600*1200 on ultra?
remember...dual GTX 560 Ti's.
