Hey everyone, im new to the forums and im building a Gaming Computer with a high Budget. :eek:
Its my 16th birthday this November and the sooner i get my computer sorted out, the sooner i can get it! (Hopefully on my birthday :3) So ill list my Computer and i will be grateful if anyone can help me with Compatibility, Advise and Savings i can make. First off delete your e-mail address - if you want people to contact you directly this board has a PM feature.

Second that's a decent build but here's what I would suggest:

1. Intel SSDs are overrated - there's several that are way better. Try the OCZ Vertex 4, Crucial M4, Samsung 830, or Plextor PX-M3, those would be far better choices. The new Samsung 840 is good as well.

2. No point in purchasing a 690 when dual 670's match the card's performance for £100 less and dual 7970 GHz's far surpass it for not that much more.

3. Good choice on the case - the NZXT Phantom is an excellent bet.

4. Absolutely no on the Sabertooth - it's incredibly overrated and I will try to discourage people from buying it every time. The plastic covers do nothing to improve the board's performance and you can get a full featured board for far less money like the Asrock Extreme 4. If you want something better than that - get a board with Thunderbolt support or get nothing. You can argue the extra warranty will justify the cost of the board but in five years you will most likely have upgraded to something else by then so there's not really a point. If something goes horribly wrong - it's going to happen in the first 60 days of ownership.

5. On a gaming rig - it's pointless to use RAM above 1600 as you won't notice the speed increase, and the 3770K won't be fully utilized. You can drop that to the 3570K and then spend the difference elsewhere - like getting dual 7970's.

So i thank you allot for that, you've definitely made my rig better! Now here's my query's if you don't mind :)

1. I'm going to be recording my game-play for YouTube and this means i need a great gaming computer and i will be rendering using Sony Vegas; Sony Vegas others a New rendering feature allowing users to render with their GPU instead of CPU. Unfortunately you cant SLI/Crossfire it can only be from one card so I'm having to go with the GTX 690 instead of 2 670/680's.

2. The CPU however I'm still staying as the i7 because i personally don't know the difference and if Ive got the money, (sounds stupid) but i may as well as its a newer model so I'm guessing slight improvements, more features or speed?

3. Operating system(I already have Windows 7 64bit) :p

4. And i questioned RAM because I'm going to be programming, game developing etc also ill be recording and gaming at the same time etc so I'm gonna go with a better MHz just because I'm gonna be doing allot :)

5. Lastly i would like to know if i need any additional cables, fans etc because when i start building this i don't wanna leave it out in the open to dust because i need a screw xD

You can SLI the 690 - it will perform about the same as a quad setup will. I haven't used Vegas but I can't see how it's going to eat GPU power like that. I'm sure you could go with dual cards instead of a single.

A little bit - for gaming you won't use the processing power of the i7 - it's meant for multimedia intensive applications.

RAM speed makes absolutely no difference for anything beyond 1600. Most motherboards really aren't rated for the high speeds and messing with your RAM settings can cause serious system instability. Plus Ivy Bridge CPUs are rated at 1600 due to the processor design of having the RAM controller on the CPU die itself. Intel will void your warranty if something goes wrong with the CPU and they find you've been using high RAM speeds.

Nope - pretty much everything is included with one part or another. Your case has all the mounts and screws you need. Your motherboard comes with SATA cables. Your PSU comes with all the power cables and cable ties. Your monitor comes with DVI and VGA cables. All driver software is included. The only thing you need is a good philips head screw driver. Tool kits and everything else aren't required purchases - only the main components.

yh, but im going to be rendering using the GPU because apparently its faster but this gives me space to add more cards in the future i guess :) I Forgot to say thanks to that rig you sent me on part picker, i was getting help from this other guy ^^^ But thanks, its made a few things more clear of which im defo going to buy! The only thing now is the Case, everything ous is pretty much done but im looking for a great case that can fit everything, lots of fans and looks kick ass! :p Ive been looking at the Storm Trooper case and the NZXT Phantom but ill keep looking :) Thanx

Yh i may, ill do some measurements tonight unless you can see it will defo fit! :) And with Vegas, theres this feature for when your rendering you can use the GPU Power instead of CPU and its meant to be faster ;P But thanks for the reply, neeed to get this rig ready for november! :)
