I cannot stop playing L4D! It's insane. Me and 2 buddies from work that I got to purchase the game have been playing it in our spare time at home and it has been great. There is just something about Versus mode in it where you get taken out by the zombies an other players, then switching sides and pummeling them that adds an element of satisfaction that was never previously attainable. It has so far has left my thirst for dead zombies unquenchable. I think it will be months before I try to even complete all the achievements I just don't care about them yet.
History of coop would be kewl. The atari was before my time but I remember 2 controllers with the nintendo. Jarassic park 2 for the super nes was my first real coop game.
Today my console is soly for multiplayer. I wish I could do coop on my pc (without online it would be great) ok i mean I use my xbox controller for race games and lego games on the pc. Why couldn't 2 of us go at crysis at the same time with 2 xbox controller on a pc or 2 keyboards and mice. Now that would be awesome. I know alot of people don't like the game but look at the wii. Sucks at gaphics gameplay and well alot but its got multiplayer and fun working in its favor. No wonder people will pay more for it than a 360. Multiplayer is enertaining people together. one thing the pc lacks without online and It won't happen but I wish some change would come here.
I forgot that horde and l4d still totally awesome mutliplayer gaming.
I'm looking forward to playing Left 4 Dead when I have some cash to blow on a new machine, had to sell my rig to go back to school
on a side note I was terribly disapointed in Bungie (Microshaft) for not inclucing co-op play in the origional Halo for PC. me and a couple of friends wanted to play the game on a decent machine.
i've been wishing for this type of co-op since my i was small, but of course bandwidth and hardware limitations made it almost impossible. anyway, its really nice to see a trend that i can finally welcome with open arms (yea im looking at u WWII shooters and microtransactions).
its a win-win situation:
- more units sold for publishers/developers
- more fun for the gamers
- combats piracy since alot of ppl dont want to miss out on the extra fun of playing with buddies (hamachi is extra burden and private servers suck)
i hope this trend lives on for a while...
