highpoint rocketraid 1640 +1x 80GB +3x250GB RAID5

Hi erstmal!
also ich habe mir letze woche den highpoint rocketraid 1640 (SATA) controller gekauft und dazu ne 80er und 3 250er maxtor (natürlich auch SATA sonst macht das ja kein spass) naja aufjedenfall spas hats bnis jetzt leider noch nicht gemacht ich ab nur ärger damit
also plattenw urden von bios (das des controllers natürlich) erkannt hab auch gleich übereifrig wie ich war das raid5 mit den drei 250GB platten eingerichtet. tja dan starte ich win2k (ist noch auf ner anderen platte (genauer ein raid 0 aus 4 40er maxtor die am dawicontrol DC 100 (highpoint chip 370 hängen)) also win2k fährt hoch erkennt neue hardware ich fütter die treiber rein alles gut und schön zweimal enustarten weil er das so will gut
ich gehe in die datenträgerverwaltung und leg fleissig partitionen an auch alles prima bis zu den zeitpunkt wie windows die platte formatieren will das läuft prima durch bis 100% und dann kommt der nette fehler das die formatierung leider nicht abgeschlossen werden konnte
gut dachte ich mit 50GB ist biscen happig und bin hin und hab auf der 80er platte ne 100MB partition angelegt und die versucht zu formatieren detto das selbe
tja dann hab ich angefangen an highpoint zu mailen die haben den schlauen rat gegeben ich solle doch mal die neueste bios version einspielen und den neusten treiber benutzen (soschau war ich selber auch schon) tja das war aber nicht die lösung also wieder mail an highpoint das ich schon die bios und treiberversion 202s verwende (in meinem superguten englisch :-) ) gut dann hat highpoint vorgeschlagen den transfermode von sATA150 auf ATA133 bzw ATA100 zu stellen
tja da musste ich highpoint entäuschen aber der 1640 hat den 374 chusatz und das ist eigentlich ein paralel ata chipsatz wenn ich jetzt nicht totla falschliege
also hab ich denen geschrieben das sata150 nicht gibt und eh schon ata133 da steht
ok dann meinte highpoint ich solls halt mal mit ata66 probieren
hm jetzt konnte ich auch die platten formatieren
wie in der highpoint mail geschrieben bin ich nach dem vormatieren hingegangen und hab transfer wieder hochgestellt
dann natürlich gleichgetestet und irgendwas auf die neue platte kopiert und CRASH windows friert absolut ein hat nichteinmal zeit nen bluescreen zu bauen
ok dachte ich stellst es halt wieder runter
also mit ata66 hochgefahren und wieder daten kopiert und ZACK CRASH
wieder eine antwort an highpoint die haben mir jetzt so ein nettes "diag" tool für os geschickt mit dem ich die sachen mal austesten soll das spuckt viel zeug aus das hab ich denen jetzt gerade geschickt mal sehen was die dazu meinen
achja die meinten noch das ich mindestens ein 350W netzteil verwenden solle hab ich aber nicht sondern nur 300W aber dsa rannte auch schon früher mit viel mehr im rechner!
hab ich denen auch geschrieben!

am i the only person who have trouble with this "pseudo" SATA controller (in real is it a paralel controller with paralel to serial britches!!

im tired to make batatesting .. i want a controller to run RAID5 SATA under win2k and if possible with 150Mb
so pleace help me!

You can change the hard disks' transfer mode to ATA100 or ATA66 in the RocketRAID 1640 BIOS. Then you can try to format them in the Disk Management. If format successfully, you can change their transfer mode to ATA133.

i installd the driver (ver202) i can "see" the disk

but i can't format it: "Die Formatierung konnte nicht fehlerfrei ausgeführt werden" free translated: the formating cant finished without errors

in the 1640bios (202s) the transfere mode is alredy ATA133 because this is the highest (i can chous between PIO 0-4, MW DMI 0-2 and ATA/16.25.33.44.66.100.133). do we speak about the same card? i have no point were i can say SATA150

i hope we get the controler running this weak! i'm a little bit angry!

i can create partitions on the 80GB disk
i can create partitions on the 500GB logical raid disk
i can't format this partitions
windows format the disk up to 100% an normaly there should be a message like "formation sucess" but windows say an error. free translated: "Windows couldn't finish to format this disk"
or windows crashes wile formating

i tried to use winXP the format toll in the winXP setup says the same lik win2k cant finish format..
i tried to use "powerquest partitionmagic 8" it says: Error #514 unknown error formating volume
the partitionmagic hompage says that: http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id2480.cfm

i also tried to remofe all other pci cards but it have no efekt

i hope you can help!! i'm verry disappointed about this not working card because it was not inexpensive

so auch wenns mich langsam schon nervt. hab ich weiter getestet. hab die 80er platte an den onboard SATA vom epox 4pdai meiner freundin und konnte sie underbar partitionieren formatieren mit daten zuschaufeln usw dann bin ich hingegangen und hab den rockedraid eingesteckt und die platte an den angeschlossen und siehe da. läst sich wieder nicht formatieren ..
achja zu den ports..
der rockedraid hat 4 anschlüsse an port 1 hab ich die 80er an 2,3,4 die 3 250er
das bios des boards ist von 2000 aber ds neueste was es für das bx-board halt gibt
für mich liegt die schuld eindeutig bei dem controller der macht irgendeinen mist
das diagtool von highpoint gibt mit nur der 80er platte am controller folgendes aus wenn man die tests startet
