How Do I Optimize Windows 8 to Run Fallout 3?

For many Windows 8 users who have installed the operating system on laptop PC or desktop computers, running Fallout 3 is not an issue as it works well for them. On the other hand, some users face problems while running the game. The two major issues that users face are:

    ■Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop window.
    ■Once on the desktop screen, download the Games for Windows Marketplace Client through the Internet.
    ■Once downloaded, navigate and locate the destination location where the Games for Windows Marketplace Client file is saved.
    ■Once located, double-click the file.
    ■On the User Account Control confirmation box, click Yes to provide the administrative consents to initiate the executed file.
    ■On Games for Windows Marketplace box, let the client download and install the game automatically.

How to Modify .INI File to Run Fallout 3 Without Issue

Once Games for Windows Marketplace Client application is downloaded and successfully installed, step-by-step instructions given below must be followed to modify the Fallout 3 .INI file to rectify the freezing issues:

    ■Log on to the computer with the account that is used to play Fallout 3.
    ■Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop window.
    ■Once on the desktop screen, click File Explorer icon from the taskbar.
    ■On the opened Libraries window, navigate to My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 location.
    ■On the opened folder, double-click to open Fallout.ini file.
    ■On the opened Fallout.ini file, find buseThreadedAI=0 line.
    ■Change its value 0 to 1. (for example buseThreadedAI=1)
    ■Insert another line after it, and type iNumHWThreads=2.
    ■If the problem still persists, change the value of INumHWthreads=2 to 1.
    ■Once done, save the file and restart the game.
