You're here for a simple tutorial, but everything you find seems to not be working out for you! Who's fault is this? Is it yours? Probably. Is it the writer's? Definitely. A simple tutorial for making tutorials is in order! That'll show them and probably yourself!

So, for starters, you need to pick a topic. Unfortunately, the internet consists of many, many different subjects and pretty much anything you considered new or original has been out for months. The best way to pick a subject for your tutorial would be to find something you don't understand and write about it! Simple as that, right? No? Three more paragraphs, eh? Oh fine.

Research is good. Knowing what you're talking about can be pretty important, but you could always just squeeze out information that you heard once or maybe even imagined. I don't blame you. Knowing your stuff is good, though, as you're trying to be as informing on the subject as possible. Be sure to at least hit up wikipedia, or give your uncle another beer. He's been around a little longer than you, and even though he keeps calling it something completely different, he knows his stuff.

Experience is key! Get your hands dirty with the very thought of whatever you're making a tutorial for. Okay... less dirty. You need both hands to type, right? No? I don't care. This interview is over unless both hands get back on that keyboard. It's not an interview? Good! Let's begin. Or wait, continue.

Publishing a tutorial comes next. Here at Tom's Hardware, they have a very, very nice input method on their site for creating a tutorial. They even offer prizes for people who write very good ones! Not only do you help others by writing a nice and well informed tutorial on how to make their lives better, but you learn a thing or two, and maybe win that sweet, sweet nexus 7, or maybe even some money! Be sure to be clear and concise, give good information, and make sure that they leave a happy reader.
