When you try to split a video or audio file, or you make any modifications to the file, many times the running audio that the file has becomes abrupt or irregular. As a result, you do not get a smooth audio experience and you find that the narrator has started speaking into the microphone all of a sudden.
You can easily rectify this problem by adding the fade-in and fade-out effects that the Camtasia Studio has. The fadein effect is added to the beginning of the audio track in the timeline. Likewise, the fade out effect is added to the end of the audio track. If there are multiple audio tracks added in a timeline, the fade in and fade out effects must be added to each media in order to allow the users to experience a smooth and consistent audio output.
Even though the default fade in and fade out settings are appropriate for almost all file types, you can manually adjust the markers as per your individual preferences, or business requirements.
Note: Make sure that you have good quality speakers in order to get the best quality audio output while making the modifications to the tracks. If the quality of your speakers or the headphones is not up to the mark, you may end up having a very inconsistent or irregular audio output in the final production.

Here’s what you need to do:
- ■Log on to the computer using any account.
■Initialize the Camtasia Studio program by double-clicking its icon.
■On the opened interface, use the Import media option to import the desired file to the Clip Bin that is to be edited.
■Once the file is added to the Clip Bin of the interface, drag the file down to the timeline.
■Select the desired media file in the timeline on which the effects are to be added.
■After selecting the media, from the buttons available on the top of the timeline, click Audio.
■On the displayed interface in the top left window, click the Fade in and Fade out buttons to add the fade in and fade out effects to the audio track respectively.
■Back in the timeline, use the available handles to increase or decrease the fade in or fade out effects from the beginning and end of the audio track respectively.
■Once done, you can now either produce the file as a final output, or you can add it to the Library for future use.
