SSDs are great! The performance boost they give to your system is just amazing.
There is however a problem with SSDs. The size of SSDs at the moment very small and rather pricey compared to traditional Hard Drives.A SSD is worth every single bit of cash you spend on it.

This guide will help you to get around and minimize the size issue of SSDS.

If you are doing a clean install
• Make sure all of your important programs are installed ( I have Battlefield 4,Kaspersky and my mouse and keyboard software) basically something you use often and anything that runs at boot (This will make sure your boot time stays nice and short)

If you are cloning your Operating System
• Remove all unnecessary programs (Anything that doesn't run at boot and anything you use very often. Don’t worry you will install them again when you are finished with this tutorial.)
Try a program called pcdecrapifier to remove unwanted programs

With that all sorted out

Before doing any of this please create a restore point.

Registry tweak to change default install folder/drive (Completely Reversible)

It gets a bit annoying to change the folder/drive to which a program installed. This tweak will just change the drive or folder to which your programs are installed to by default so no need to go and change the install directory each time you install a new program.
1. Run regedit.exe (Windows 7 click start and type regedit in search box)
(Windows 8 click start and type regedit)
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
You will see a whole lot of entries you need to change all of the entries with C:\ drive to whatever drive you want your programs to be installed on in my case it was Drive F:\

If you are having problems with certain programs not working reinstall them and make sure if they are important that you customize the install so the install on your SSD and not on the slow HDD.

Change default download location
Let’s face it downloads take a lot of space and on a small SSD it is not a good idea to have you downloads filling up your SSD.

• Change you default download location of your browser.
• Change the default download location of your Torrent downloader.

Once the above has been done go to computer and on the left hand panel right click on downloads and click properties then click the Shortcut Tab and change target to the download location you changed your browser and torrent downloader to.(This just makes sure your download shortcut works and takes you to the correct download folder.)

Link media to library
This helps media players find your media it also makes sure your windows explorer shortcuts work. (Music, Pictures and Videos.)

Go to computer and on the left hand panel right click on music and click properties then click the add button and choose the directory where your music is stored and then click include folder.

Repeat this for Pictures and Videos.

Hope this tutorial helps if you have any questions or other tips on optimising windows for SSDs please feel free to contact me. :)
