Another thing that can be helpful somehow, I'm sure, is uploading a custom DFXP file in that first menu. It allows you to select a file from your computer to upload to the video you are watching in order to add subtitles of your own. Just open that menu with shift+alt+left click, click Load Custom DFXP file, and find one you downloaded in the pop-up window.
You can also click A/V stats for it to tell you things like CPU usage, frames rendered/dropped, current bitrate, and a bunch of other technical stuff.
The bottom option, A/V sync compensation, gives you a slider that allows you to adjust audio and video, in case they are out of sync, something that can be extremely frustrating.
